How to Put an Active Role on Hold in TeamOhana
Last updated: November 20, 2025
Sometimes you may need to put an active role on hold temporarily — for example, if hiring is delayed or the role is paused. There are a few approaches depending on whether you want to maintain forecast impact or visibility.
Options
1. Push the Target Start Date
What it does: Moves the role’s start date forward.
Use case: Temporary hold without removing the role from the plan.
Impact on forecast: Maintains cost forecast based on the new start date.
2. Create a “Role on Hold” Custom Field
What it does: Allows you to mark roles as on hold while keeping them in the plan and maintaining visibility.
Use case: Useful if you want the role to remain in the forecast but indicate it’s on hold.
Impact on forecast: Cost forecast remains intact.
3. Archive the Role
What it does: Removes the role from visibility and the cost forecast.
Use case: Suitable for longer-term holds where you don’t need the role active in the plan.
Impact on forecast: Removed until the role is re-added.
Note: Re-adding the role will require re-approval before it can impact your hiring plan again.
Tip: Choose the approach based on whether you want the role to remain visible and maintain cost forecast impact, or to temporarily remove it from the plan.
